When minimalism is the aesthetic, master craftsmanship and attention to detail are critical. NB Construction not only worked with this client to envision a space that would be highly functional and devoid of unnecessary details, they were uniquely qualified to execute something so dependent on precision and craft. The eye naturally travels first to the beams — decorative beams that were distressed and stained to bring a natural element to the otherwise binary, black and white kitchen.
In addition to the pleasing symmetry of their placement, note placement of the brass stove hood and recessed lighting in relation to the beams. Further aiding the soothing, minimal feel of the kitchen are the recessed pantry and subzero refrigerator, and the custom black-lacquered cabinets, which are equipped with spring-loaded push latches to eliminate hardware clutter. The combination of the white marble countertop and black Caesarstone island keep the ying and yang balanced.
