For this complete kitchen renovation, NB Construction’s challenge was to create a space that complemented the elegantly appointed vintage English Tudor home, but was a more casual gathering spot. The clients were thrilled with the idea to take things in an English country kitchen direction, which 24 established with the farmhouse style, custom-crafted cabinetry with beadboard fronts and rustic bin pulls.
The cabinets along with the custom-cut doors, windows, casements, trim, baseboards and crown molding were given a clean white finish that contrasts the new narrow plank flooring, stained to match the home’s original flooring. Marble counters were the obvious choice for this period-inspired kitchen, with the added detail of a soft bullnose edge, while more vintage charm abounds in the custom-made distressed furniture and etched glass pendant lights.
