ROOM ADDITION
This serene poolside oasis was designed by NB Construction to fulfill the client’s dream of a flexible indoor/outdoor, living/working, day/night space separate from the main house. At the center of it all, double pocket doors disappear entirely from view, creating a wide opening that blurs the boundary between indoors and out. Outside, recessed overhead lighting and industrial sconces create a relaxing environment to enjoy chilly desert nights poolside, while during the day it’s only steps from sofa to pool, with the safety of a patio umbrella in between.
Indoors, the walls are lined with storage cabinets crafted of custom bleached wood, while contrasting pops of orange can be found on one accent wall and on the casing around the door to the three-quarter bath. A pair of skylights and pierced shade pendant lights were added to create any kind of mood for day or night. Meanwhile in one corner, a built-in desktop and more bleached wood cabinetry make this an ideal spot to work from home.
