“Whimsical” and “bright” are not qualities you’d expect to find in a telecommunications business office, but that’s what this commercial client was going for and NB Construction made it a reality. From the moment visitors enter, they’re met with a decidedly un-corporate color palette of lime, grape and tangerine, and led along a curving path made from contrasting colors and textures of flooring. More arcs and curves are found in the peanut-shaped work stations and the orbs in the Sputnik-inspired mural.
The open space was broken into work and meeting areas using half-walls (painted with clouds, of course), and one work pod is granted autonomy behind an open-sided glass wall. For an additional bank of private offices, 24 designed, built, and custom-finished wood doors flanked by floor-to-ceiling sidelights.
