In this West Hollywood Hills home, the transformation of a cramped, dark, dysfunctional kitchen to bright, open, usable space is the headline. Open concept won out again with NB Construction’s removal of a wall resulting in improved light and traffic flow, both in and between the kitchen and living areas.
Enhancing the dramatic brightening of the space are a white and gold design scheme featuring custom-made, traditional-style cabinetry with a lacquer finish, white marble countertops with streamlined mitered corners, white handmade heart tile backsplash extending up to the ceiling, and a gleaming white porcelain farm sink. Where once was that imposing wall, today a bright and friendly peninsula invites guests to come hang out beneath the pair of glass and brass-domed lighting fixtures. Brass cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures also help keep the space feeling warm.
